Hasty Pudding Theatricals - Man and Woman of the Year 2000

The 51st Man and Woman of the Year Awards hosted by the Hasty Pudding Awards took place in February on Thursday the 8th for the Woman of the Year, Drew Barrymore. A week later Anthony Hopkins received the Man of Year award.

Drew Barrymore had recently gotten married to Tom Greene when she received the award. She said that she and Tom Greene was a good match for each other. They both were jokesters and he could make her laugh all the time. Drew starting acting when she was six years old and made movie history as the little girl in Spielberg's E.T. the Extraterrestrial. Drew Barrymore starred in over 30 films including Poltergeist, Charlie's Angels, Ever After..A Cinderella Story, Scream, The Wedding Singer. Barrymore also started her own production company, Flower Films.

Anthony Hopkins receiving his Pudding Pot the following week. He received an Academy Award for his performance as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs his more recognized role. He has appeared in many other films including The Remains of the Day, Nixon, Shadowlands, Amistad, and Meet Joe Black. He started out as a theatre actor and enjoyed the theatre as much as he does films.
